Iowa Family Having Great Lottery Luck
I'm guessing Troy Dennis of Boone has plenty of friends right now. He just cashed in an Iowa Lottery ticket worth $100,000. It's not the first winning ticket he's purchased, but it is the first time the winning ticket was for himself.
Troy won the $100,000 top prize in the lottery's "Cash In" scratch game. He purchased the ticket at L & M Gas and Grocery in Boone. Five months earlier, Troy purchased a ticket at the store that also won his mom, Terry, $100,000.
When Troy claimed his prize last week he told the Iowa Lottery office in Clive,
Lightning striking twice in one place is pretty crazy. I mean, the chances of that are slim to none. I couldn't believe it. It was like, 'Well, my mom had just won, now it's my turn.' I guess that's just good karma.
He scratched the winning ticket right at the counter, realized he was a winner, and then headed off to work.
While I'm a little jealous of the Dennis family luck, I'm also very happy for them, especially Troy. He says he hasn't had a family vacation since he can't remember when. Enjoy Troy, and congratulations to both you and your mom.
