Here are All the Bands Playing Rock the Block in CR This Summer

A free concert series in Cedar Rapids will return in just a couple of weeks! NewBo City Market has announced their official lineup for their 2023 Rock the Block event.

Rock the Block is a popular outdoor concert series held on the lawn of NewBo City Market every Friday night during the summer months. The 2023 season will kick-off on Friday, May 5th and run through the end of August. Here are all the bands that are set to perform:

5/26 - Young the Lion
6/2 - Vandello
6/9 - The Evan Stock Band
6/16 - Alicia Monee
6/23 - Newski
6/30 - Betty Calling
7/7 - Miss Christine
7/14 - Molly Nova & The Hawks
7/21 - Halfloves
7/28 - The Blake Shaw Quartet
8/4 - FunkDaddies
8/11 - Surf Zombies
8/18 - Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers
8/25 - Fresh Fighters

If you've never attended Rock the Block before, NewBo City Market has a few rules that guests must follow. First of all, no coolers or outside food or beverages are allowed, aside from water in a reusable water bottles. They are asking that attendees support the small businesses located inside the market during the event. Alcohol will be available for purchase, as well, but it can only be consumed within the market barriers. It's also important to note that smoking is NOT permitted. Seating at Rock the Block is first-come, first-served, so show up early and bring something to sit on!
