Iowa point guard Jordan Bohannon just hasn't looked like himself the past several games for the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. The dependable long range shooter out of Marion was only shooting an icy 22% from 3 point range over the past five games. But against Northwestern, Iowa got a vintage Jordan Bohannon game when they needed it the most.

The Gazette reports that Bohannon shot six of nine from three on Tuesday night and led Iowa with 24 points, 19 in the second half. Every time Northwestern would make a run, Bohannon would answer with a three. 10th ranked Iowa outlasted a pesky 19th ranked Northwestern 87-72. Iowa improved to 8-2 overall, 2-1 in Big Ten play.

Iowa's C.J. Fredrick paced Iowa in the first half, scoring 17 of his 19 points in the first stanza. Iowa's All-American center Luka Garza faced double teams all night, and had 18 points, breaking his streak of 18 straight Big Ten games with at least 20 points, according to the Gazette.

Iowa will next take on 14th ranked Rutgers, Saturday on the road. Rutgers took out Purdue last night, the same team the bested the Hawkeyes a few days ago. They won without their leading scorer Ron Harper Jr. who sat due to an ankle injury. He's expected to be ready to go for Iowa. The Big Ten is brutal this year. There are no gimmes!
