The Fields of Dreams is iconic.  There’s a movie about it.  People flock there all year round to see and experience a little piece of Iowa.  An ode to baseball in the middle of a cornfield.  “If you build it, they will come” and they did and still do.  That’s not the only place in Iowa that tips its hat to an iconic sport.

In Iowa, there’s another sports wonder amid the barns and farmhouses.  It’s the brainchild of Mark Kuhn who at the age of 11, after hearing a BBC broadcast of Wimbledon on a shortwave radio, thought about having his own grass court to play on and having it not only in his backyard but letting anyone play on the grass court.

I’d like to introduce you to the All-Iowa Lawn Tennis Club.  A few things before you look for a membership application.  There’s no clubhouse, just a regular house, and there are no members.  Though there are no members anyone can play from Memorial Day to September for Free.   They'd "love" for you to play.  That's some tennis humor for you and while I'm at it, you're welcome.

There aren’t many grass courts across the country, and most are private and fewer are in Iowa. The All-Iowa Lawn Tennis Club opened in 2003, and since its opening thousands of tennis lovers have graced the grass courts with their volleys.
