Frightening Fridays: Coco

  • "Movies begin at sunset, remember to bring something to sit on! Don't forget to wear your best movie-themed costumes to compete in our weekly costume contests! Support our Shopkeepers and get your movie-viewing snacks and beverages inside the Market."

Tunnel of Terror

  • Friday & Saturday October 28th & 29th from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Tommy's Express Car Washes on Westdale Pkwy & 1st Ave SE in Cedar Rapids
  • "This October, head to your closest Tommy’s Express for a haunted car wash that will scare the socks off your entire vehicle. It started as fun for one, and Tunnel of Terror is now an annual event for many Tommy’s Express locations. Prepare for the scare in a tunnel unlike no other!"
  • Cost is $20 per vehicle

Pizza Ranch Trunk or Treat!

  • Friday, October 28th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Pizza Ranch on Westdale Dr SW in Cedar Rapids
  • "Come join us for our first annual Trunk or Treat! We will have businesses and individuals ready to pass out all kinds of treats to the kiddos as they go from vehicle to vehicle to collect their loot!"
  • Kids in costumes eat free

Halloween Fun

  • Friday, October 28th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The Quarter Barrel Arcade & Brewery in Cedar Rapids
  • "Each child wearing a costume will get Halloween candy and will earn a ticket for the raffle drawing (prizes include toys and QB gift cards). Any family with at least one member wearing a costume can buy 1 pizza and get a 2nd half off. A balloon artist will be here from 6-8pm to entertain the kids. More arcade games will be set to free play (including our most popular ones - Dig Dug, Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man). A quarter fairy will be sprinkling quarters into other games for free credit."

Orchestra Iowa Pops I: Jurassic Park With Live Orchestra

The Great Pumpkin Float

  • Friday, October 28th from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Ely City Park
  • "For this one special night, the City Park pond will come aglow with floating pumpkins. The smell of fire pits and roasting marshmallows will fill the air while your favorite Halloween tunes help to bring the spooky vibe. Ely Parks & Recreation will be selling $1 s'more kits, warm hot chocolate, delicious hot dogs (while supplies last) and other beverages at the concession stand during the event. Families are welcome to bring their own snacks and blankets or chairs to sit on."

Halloween Hoedown

  • Friday, October 28th at 7 p.m.
  • DanceMor Ballroom in Swisher
  • Featuring live music from Boot Jack Band, a food truck, a costume contest, prizes, and drink specials
  • Admission is $5

HalloWEEKEND

  • Friday, October 28th through Sunday, October 30th
  • The Iowa Children's Museum in Coralville
  • "We will have spooky science experiments, creepy cardboard creations, and other special Halloween activities on Friday (11 a.m. & 3 p.m.) Saturday (11 a.m. & 4 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. & 4 p.m.). Throughout the weekend, you can also make creepy crafts in the Art Studio, use peculiar toppings in Pizzeria Pie, complete a Halloween scavenger hunt, and have fun with other rotating Halloween activities like pumpkin bowling! Costumes are encouraged (but not required)!"
  • All activities are included with museum admission - admission is free for members

4th Annual Community Trunk or Treat

  • Saturday, October 29th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

JUST HERE FOR THE BOOS Fun Run for WINE

  • Ackerman Winery in Amana
  • "This is a non-timed, non-qualifying, non-5K course, so walk, skip, run, stop for selfies, or take a potty break. It's alllllll good, and at the end of it, there will be a nice refreshing glass of vino."

  • "All are invited to come in costume and trick-or-treat at the vendor tables.
    Costume parade at 10 a.m. where kids and parents gather at the north side of the Chauncey Swan Parking Garage. Stick around to decorate a pumpkin to take home! This event is free, and kids of all ages are welcome."

Wickiup Fall Fest

  • Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Wickiup Hill Learning Center in Toddville
  • "Come out and experience our friendly trick or treat hike through the woods, pumpkin bowling, straw scramble, creepy critters, and more! Aimed at ages 3-10, but younger and older siblings welcome. Costumes encouraged!"
