Fundraisers, Markets, & a Marathon -- Iowa Weekend Events

It's the last weekend in April! Here are some of the events happening in Eastern Iowa this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:

Pianopalooza Dueling Pianos
- BudLight Lounge at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids
- April 26th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Come early - space is limited
- Cost is $6 at the door
Adult Easter Egg Hunt
- Central City City Hall
- April 26th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- 18 and over only
- "Egg hunt prizes will be filled with candy, cash, lottery tickets, and other adult novelty and wellness items"
- Food and drinks are included in the price
- A special drawing and prize will be available for those who bring donations to help the local women's shelter

Putts for Prevention
- Begins at Greene Square Park in Cedar Rapids with stops at Hazzard County, Pub 217, Grin N Goose, The Rock Bar, NEED Pizza, Jimmy Z's, The Early Bird, Osgoods, and Iowa Brewing Company
- April 26th from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- "Putts for Prevention is an exciting and fun nine hole putt-putt course located at all of your favorite downtown eateries"
- There will be opportunities to participate in several raffle packages

Ladies Day Out
- Uptown Marion District
- April 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Stop by the Uptown Marion Booth (at the 7th Ave Bus Stop) to pick up a map and list of participating businesses - the first 100 people will receive exclusive coupons to participating businesses, and the first 50 people will also receive a free gift
- Turn in your purchase receipts by 4 p.m. to be entered to win $50 in Uptown Dollars
Women in Nature 2019

  - Pre-race shuttle from the finish line (the corner of 2^nd St and 12^th Avenue SE) to the start line (Lower City Park in Iowa City) between 4:45 a.m. and 5:15 a.m.
  - Race begins at 6:30 a.m.
- Half Marathon

  - Begins in Czech Village in Cedar Rapids at 8 a.m.

Earth Fest
- Terry Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City
- April 27th from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- "Earth Fest will be fun for all ages with indoor and outdoor activities related to the environment, animals, and sustainability, including live music, raptors, fun activities, games, and local environmental organization, and a free sapling giveaway"

Poker Run & Concert Fundraiser
- Begins at Hawkeye Harley Davidson in Coralville - ends at City Hall in Parnell
- April 27th starting at 10 a.m.
  - Concert begins at 3 p.m. at Parnell City Hall
- Concert lineup includes Dave Zollo and the Body Electric, Boot Jack Band, The Bernemann Brothers Band, and Abbie Callahan
- Poker run registration + concert fee is $20 - just the concert is $10

March for Babies

Brooklyn Fire Department Annual Pancake Breakfast

- Serving pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and beverages
- Free will donations accepted
4th Annual Stephen Cook Memorial Pancake Breakfast
- Palo Fire Department
- April 28th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Serving pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash browns, milk, and orange juice
- Your paid ticket makes you eligible for door prizes - raffle prizes will also be available
- "Proceeds will help us purchase needed fire equipment and grow our Fire Prevention program for the children"
