Eleven days after authorities found the body of a Missouri woman, her three children have been found safe in central Iowa.

On July 29, authorities in extreme southwest Missouri recovered a body believed to be that of 25-year-old Jessica McCormack. Thursday, authorities confirmed it was McCormack though dental records and DNA testing are not yet complete.

Investigators believe McCormack's remains were in a suitcase that was tossed onto a hill from a moving vehicle. They say McCormack hadn't been seen for about a month but had not been reported missing. The whereabouts of her three children, who had not been seen since July 3, was unknown until last night.

Des Moines Police Sergeant Paul Parizek told WHO the three children were found at an apartment complex on Creston Avenue in Des Moines on Thursday. The children, ages 4, 20-months, and 7-months, had been considered both missing and possibly endangered. The kids were given to a woman in the Des Moines apartment complex by a man claiming to be their father. The woman did not know the man and when he didn't return after a few days, she called police. The man is considered a person of interest in Jessica McCormack's death.
