Another new building is expected to be built on the west side of the river in Cedar Rapids in the fast-growing area known as Kingston Village.

202 West, as it will be known, was designed by MW Properties and Shive-Hattery and proposed by former Iowa Hawkeye football star and NFL player, Nate Kaeding. Kaeding is the Director of Midwest One Financial group and Director of Business Development for Build to Suit, Inc., according to his Linkedin page.

The five-story building will be mixed-use and will include 45 apartments. All of them will have their own private balcony. It will also include a rooftop patio, according to KCRG. Renderings of the building and the patio are below.

The Cedar Rapids City Council chose 202 West over four other proposals they received for a new building on Second Street Southwest between Second and Third Avenues. 202 West will be just to the north of Dash Coffee Roasters.

The 202 West building project is estimated at $6.3 million. We'll keep you up-to-date as more information becomes available on what will be an exciting new addition to the west side of the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids.
