  • 45th Annual Water Fights
    • S.T. Morrison Park in Coralville
    • January 25th
      • Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
      • Women fights start at 11 a.m. with men to follow
    • "Firefighters from throughout the Midwest will take part in the annual Winter Water Fights hosted by the Coralville Fire Department. Watch pairs of teams blast their fire hoses as they try to move a hanging barrel to the end of a cable in the midst of cold winter temperatures!"
  • Backcountry Film Festival
    • Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids
    • January 25th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    • "Spend an evening at the Nature Center as we host the Winter Wildland Alliance Backcountry Film Festival, a compilation of films that celebrate the human-powered experience through winter adventures. Win raffle prizes, grab a drink and some popcorn and enjoy ten short films that feature outdoor sports in beautiful places around the world.   • Fire & Ice/5K-ish Obstacle Run (Part of Beat the Bitter)
    • Penn Meadows Park in North Liberty
    • January 26th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
      • Run begins at 2 p.m.
    • Featuring horse-drawn trolley rides, carnival rides, ice carvings, live entertainment, ice skating, food trucks, a bonfire, fireworks, and more
