A year without concerts. A year without new memories of our favorite artists live in concert. A year that most of us would love to forget. The darkness that has dimmed so many of our favorite pastimes is slowly lifting, and country artists are preparing to dive back into touring. Perhaps no one takes this more seriously than "The Chief", Eric Church.

The country mega-star is about to embark on what he is calling "The Gather Again Tour", and he's making a stop in Des Moines, Iowa! Eric will storm into the Hawkeye state on Saturday night, February 12, 2022. Wells Fargo Arena better prepare for a man that plays three hours on a normal night! How long will he play after not touring for a year? Tickets for Eric's Des Moines show will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 7th, 2021. Details are available HERE.

Next week is also a huge week for Mr. Church. His ambitious three-part album titled, "Heart & Soul", will be released on three separate days with the middle album, titled "&", being a fan club exclusive. He's already released a whopping 10 songs from the project:

  • Stick That in Your Country Song
  • Bad Mother Trucker
  • Crazyland
  • Hell of A View
  • Through My Ray Bans
  • Doing Life With Me
  • Heart on Fire
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones
  • Never Break Heart
  • Break It Kind of Guy

Like other classic Church albums, songs range from angry anthems about society's shortfalls, to heartfelt ballads about married life and being a father. At 43 years of age, Eric Church is at the peak of his powers, and there may not be an artist that I can relate to more.

However, to truly know an artist, you have to see them live. I've had the chance to see Eric Church three times. The first was at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines back in 2014 during his "Outsiders Tour". The raw power of his live show is something that must be experienced! He gives everything he has, every night. Eric played The Great Jones County Fair in Monticello, which was a blast, of course. And then I got to see him again in Moline in 2017.

Holly and I, along with Bob James and Danielle all went to the show and found ourselves in the pit, right next to the stage. I was feet away from one of my musical heroes for three hours.

Eric Church is coming back to Iowa! Experience everything I have and so much more. We've waited so long to gather together again.
