A spooky experience is coming to Des Moines for three days only this July!

If you enjoy the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe, there's a good chance you'll enjoy the traveling Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy that will be making a stop in Iowa next month! According to the official website:

"Step back in time and immerse yourself in the dark and mysterious world of Edgar Allan Poe. This exclusive speakeasy will transport you to a bygone era as you sip on expertly crafted cocktails inspired by four of Poe's most beloved stories. Led by the speakeasy’s lead mixologist and Poe historians, this immersive evening promises to be a chillingly unforgettable experience."

The four cocktails included in the event are the Pale Blue Eye, the Cocktail of Red Death, Edgar's Twisted Brandy Milk Punch, and the Nevermore.

The Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy will visit the Grand Hall at Temple Theater in Des Moines for only three days, Thursday, July 11th through Saturday, July 13th. Each session is 90-minutes long and costs between $48 and $62 per person. You must be 21 or older to participate.

According to the FAQs on the event's official website, it is recommended that guests arrive 15-minutes prior to their scheduled time. Organizers also suggest wearing cocktail attire. You are allowed to take photos during the event, but professional equipment/tripods will not be permitted. Because the speakeasy is indoors, it will not be dependent on the weather conditions. Tickets are non-refundable, but you can contact the team if there are "special circumstances" surrounding your cancellation.
