NeeDoh Gone Wrong! Mishap Raises Safety Concerns [VIDEO]
One of the gifts that my daughters got for Christmas this year was something called a NeeDoh. They are stretchy balls or cubes that are designed for you to smoosh, stretch, and then watch as they go back to their original shape! I loved playing with them myself, so Holly got me a NeeDoh cube! I have it here at work and it really is a great way to deal with stress!
I have seen posts on social media about some NeeDoh owners subjecting the items to extreme temperatures. Some like them cold, while others warm them up. Well, we're here to warn you of what NOT to do with your NeeDoh or it could end up causing you some serious pain!
An 8-year-old girl is recovering from severe facial burns after she microwaved her NeeDoh, according to Newsweek. The young girl and her sister were videoed on home surveillance microwaving the squishy toy only to have it explode right in their face!
Newsweek reports that the girl suffered visible burns on her face, and the girl's mother says it could be up to a year to find out if the burns will heal or leave permanent scars.
A spokesperson for the parent company of NeeDoh, Schylling, told Newsweek that "NeeDoh® products should never be frozen, microwaved or heated. We are in contact with regulators on the reported incidents of misuse of our product." You might think that a few seconds in the microwave won't hurt you or your NeeDoh. You would be wrong.
