Looking for houseplants? A new shop called Crazy Plant Gal has a TON of them! The local business officially opened its doors in Cedar Rapids back on February 12th.

About Crazy Plant Gal

Located at 821 3rd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids, Crazy Plant Gal's building is hard to miss. According to an article from Homegrown Iowan, the business is inside of a historic mansion that dates all the back to the 1870s! The space has been home to several restaurants over the years, most recently Moniker 86 Social Club, but it has also served as a mortuary and funeral home.

If you're wondering if the mansion is haunted, owner Kim McGraw told Homegrown Iowan that she and her husband have experienced a few strange occurrences since moving into the home. She describes it on social media as "a space that feels just haunted enough to be interesting—but still friendly."

The Crazy Plant Gal website says that they are "the largest Hoya grower in Iowa," but that they offer plenty of other types of plants, too, including Anthurium, Philodendron, and Monstera. In addition to plants, Homegrown Iowan reports that the shop also sells "t-shirts, sparkling suncatchers, candles, and other handcrafted items."

Business Hours

The Crazy Plant Gal is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers have access to on-street parking ONLY. For the latest updates, you can follow the official Facebook page HERE!
