Courtlin Tried 2 New Cedar Rapids Restaurants Last Week [PHOTOS]
Sometimes I get into the habit of eating at the same restaurants over and over, but not last week! I tried two places that I have never been to before, one brand new and one that opened a little less than a year ago.
The first place I visited last week isn't technically a restaurant (yet), but a food truck! After revealing last week that Coyle's Hibachi Chef would be moving into the space that was formerly Winifred's on 1st Ave in Cedar Rapids, I decided that I needed to give them a try. I stopped over at their truck's location on Center Point Road and 32nd St NE on Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and I was NOT disappointed. I went up and ordered the Chicken Hibachi meal and they brought it out to my car in about five minutes. It came with fried rice, chicken, veggies, and yum yum sauce. The portions were so big that I got two meals out of it for less than $10! I will DEFINITELY be back.
The second place I tried last week was a brand new restaurant that just opened their doors on Halloween. A friend and I went over to Sacred Cow Tavern at 1000 7th St SE for lunch on Friday afternoon. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside!
It was hard to choose what we wanted to order at Sacred Cow, because everything on the menu sounded delicious. We ended up going with the Nacho Fries for an appetizer, and it was 100% the right decision. It was so good that we almost ordered another one!
For our meals, I went with the Chicken Gyro Caesar Salad, and my friend chose the Poutine Burger, which is topped with gravy, cheese curds, mushrooms, and cheese. We were both more than satisfied with our decisions.
Like I mentioned earlier, there are still so many thing on the menu at Sacred Cow Tavern that I want to try, so I will be back soon for sure. I'm looking at you, Cheese Dip Burger!
