2018 was a fantastic year for music, especially in the country genre! There we some phenomenal albums that came out this year, all with their own unique sound. I think that's what I love about country music right now. There are so many different kinds of country music, that there's something for everybody. I hate when people say they hate ALL country music. I always respond that they just haven't found the right artist yet. Country radio only shows a small sample of the great songs out there. We can't possibly play every album cut from every artist, so it's important to do some exploring on your own.

This morning I took on the difficult task of coming up with my top 10 favorite country songs of the year. I used the same qualifications that the Grammys use, choosing songs from albums that came out as early as October 1st of 2017. I originally had chosen 14 songs, but I somehow managed to narrow it down to just 10. I also only allowed myself to choose one song from each artist, Here are my favorite country songs of the year:

  • Weed, Whiskey and Willie - Brothers Osbourne
  • Slow Burn - Kacey Musgraves
  • Heart Like a Wheel - Eric Church
  • Tequila - Dan + Shay
  • Millionaire - Chris Stapleton
  • Get Over Yourself - Kelsea Ballerini
  • Down to the Honkytonk - Jake Owen
  • Bitches - Mitchell Tenpenny
  • Selfish - Jordan Davis
  • Beautiful Crazy - Luke Combs
