How far are you willing to travel for food?

A few months ago, I wrote an article about a restaurant here in Eastern Iowa that serves mac & cheese burritos. I immediately added it to my ever-growing list of restaurants that I want to try, but it wasn't until yesterday that my best friend and I finally made the trip.

Cheesy Cow Mac & Cheesery is located at 5133 Competition Drive in Bettendorf, Iowa, which is about an hour and 15 minutes from Cedar Rapids. After looking through the menu and all the photos on social media, we decided that the drive would be worth it. I'm happy to report that we were right.

Because the restaurant is so far out of the way, we wanted to make sure we tried a bunch of different items during our visit. We went with the Original Mac, the Loaded Baked Potato Mac, the BLT & Cheese Melt, and, of course, the Walking Taco Macarrito. I can honestly say that every single thing was AMAZING. My personal favorite was the Loaded Baked Potato Mac, which contains cheddar mac sauce, diced baked potato, bacon, chives, sour cream, and cheddar cheese.

This is definitely not my first time driving out of my way for delicious food, and I'm sure it won't be my last. I don't mind traveling 2.5 hours roundtrip for something smothered in cheese! What's the longest you've traveled for food, and did it end up being worth it? Let us know in the comments!
