No, it's not THAT kind of anniversary! The only relationship I have is with my career in radio... which began 3 years ago TODAY! Today is the anniversary of my first ever day on the air.

A little history for you - I went to Specs Howard School of Broadcasting in Southfield, MI after spending a year at Oakland University without any CLUE about what I wanted to do. I had a 45 minute drive to school every morning, and I would switch back and forth between two popular Detroit morning shows. I would always think to myself, "Man, what a COOL job. I wish I could do that." And then one day I said, "Why not?!" A few months later I was enrolled at Specs and got an internship on a Detroit morning show. After 8 months it ended, and then I was on my own. It was really hard to find a job at first, but after about 6 months, I landed an interview at a small station in Port Huron, MI and I was on my way! I did part-time weekends, overnights, fill-ins, whatever they would give me, until there was a full-time opening. Within a few months, I switched to mornings, and I've never wanted to do anything else!

I'm so happy to be here in Cedar Rapids and have such supportive listeners! Thanks for making my job so awesome every single day :)
