Country Thunder Iowa's inaugural festival, on the heels of the former Tree Town Music Festival, just wasn't to be this year. The event, originally scheduled for June in Forest City, was postponed until Labor Day weekend in the hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic would allow for huge events by then. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened and the event is being postponed again. Country Thunder Iowa spelled it out on their website:

After consultations with government and health officials and continual monitoring of the Covid-19 related phases of re-opening in the state, it has become clear that this event can not be held safely at this time.

So, it's on to 2021. Country Thunder Iowa will now take place on June 11 through 13 of 2021. There IS plenty of good news, though.

2020 performers Lynyrd Skynyrd, Old Dominion, and Kane Brown will all return in 2021. Old Dominion will headline on Friday, June 11, Kane Brown on Saturday, June 12, and Lynyrd Skynryd and Morgan Wallen will both perform on Sunday, June 13. Clay Walker and Lonestar will also be doing live shows, but which day hasn't been revealed. If you purchased tickets for the 2020 event, they WILL be good at Country Thunder Iowa in 2021.

If you'd like to cancel tickets you purchased for this year's event, the festival says you'll receive an email with more information on their transfer/refund policy on Friday, August 14. They won't be accepting any cancellation requests until that time. You can learn more HERE.
