Chuck Long had an incredible career as a quarterback at Iowa. He was involved in one of the greatest games in Iowa history... the 1985 meeting between #1 Iowa and #2 Michigan at Kinnick Stadium. You can see the recap of that game here:

Iowa would finish 10-1 in the regular season and play UCLA in the Rose Bowl. Long would be runner-up to Bo Jackson in voting for the 1985 Heisman Trophy in what's still the second-closest vote in the history of the award. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999. Here's a look back at his incredible career in the black and gold.

Chuck Long went on to play for the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams of the NFL before turning to coaching. He's currently an analyst for the Big Ten Network, is CEO/Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation, and is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks’ coach for the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL. The team is coached by former Hawkeye Tight End Jonathan Hayes.
