Chris Soules, of Arlington, has officially been charged with a Class D felony. Sunday, paperwork was filed by the Buchanan County Attorney's Office charging Soules with "Hit and run, resulting in death." The charge stems from an accident the evening of April 24, near Aurora. 66-year-old Kenneth Moser of Aurora was killed in the crash when authorities say a truck, driven by Soules, rear-ended a tractor driven, by Moser.

Last week, Soules attorneys asked for dismissal of a charge of leaving the scene of a deadly accident. The Buchanan County Attorney's Office then announced, via court documents, that "empty and partially consumed open alcoholic beverages (were) located in and around his vehicle that he was seen purchasing at a convenience store shortly before the accident."

If convicted, Soules could face up to five years in prison, according to the Gazette. "Hit and run, resulting in death" is the only charge Soules is facing. He faces arraignment May 23, but it is possible he will submit a written plea in advance of the hearing.
