Check Out Cedar Rapids’ Newest Award-Winning Cocktail

We have a winner! Earlier this week, NewBo City Market held its annual Spring Cocktail Classic, with ten Cedar Rapids bars/restaurants competing for two big awards.

LP Street Food not only took home the biggest award of the night, the Cocktail Classic Championship, but they also won the People’s Choice Award! This is the first time in the event's history that both awards were won by the same team.

The winning cocktail from Jaime Jackson and Cale Henderson, the team at LP Street Food, is called "Here Comes the Bloom." According to LP's Facebook page, the cocktail consists of "Ginger & Rooibos Tea Infused Cedar Ridge Quintessential Single Malt Whiskey, Amaro Montenegro, Grilled Pineapple & Ebert Honey Syrup, Cardamom & House-Made Grass Bitters, Lemon Juice, [and] Locally-Foraged Lilac & Vanilla Foam."

If you didn't make it to the Spring Cocktail Classic, LP Street Food is now serving their award-winning cocktail at their restaurant. LP's hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.

LP Street Food beat out nine other Cedar Rapids bars/restaurants in the Spring Cocktail Classic. Those restaurants include:

• Ideal Theater & Bar
• Lacayo
• The Map Room
• Mezcal Tequila Cocina
