The Cedar Rapids Insane Inflatable 5K brought to you by Dave Wright Subaru is less than two weeks away! This year, the insanity takes place on Saturday, June 17 at Hawkeye Downs! If you're looking to challenge yourself this summer, or if you just want to do something new and exciting, the Insane Inflatable 5K is the perfect place to do both.

Last year, I thought the 5K would be a piece of cake - I was wrong. It was a lot tougher than I imagined. Although I did run/jog the entire thing, so that made it that much more of a challenge. Despite my struggles, I had a blast. It rained before the event last year, so some of the obstacles still had water in them. For me, that made it that much more fun. I literally felt like a kid again, playing in the rain and the mud, while bouncing on giant inflatables. It almost made me forget that it was an actual 5K! This is my boyfriend (and running partner) and I after living through the insanity of the II5K. We made it, so you can too!


The best thing about this event is that you can take it as seriously as you want. It was on my list of New Year's Resolutions, so I challenged myself to go all out. You, however can take it as fast or slow as you like. AND if you get too worn out, you can always just take your time or walk around the inflatables.

Last year, It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the course. This year, I'm looking to cut that time to 30 minutes (yikes). I'm not sure if I can do it, but I'm up for the challenge. I also plan on bringing my GoPro, to give you a point-of-view look at the course. Although, you can see it first hand by registering for the II5K HERE.
