A shooting early Wednesday morning on Cedar Rapids' northeast side left two people injured.

According to media releases from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, officers responded to calls of victims with gunshot wounds at both 1623 Park Towne Ct. NE #N14 and 1640 Miami Dr. NE just before 3 a.m. The two locations are just a few blocks apart.

At the Miami Dr. address, a 19-year-old woman with gunshot wounds was said to be knocking on apartment doors, asking for help. She was taken to an area hospital by Area Ambulance Service. Her wounds are considered non-life-threatening.

Another shooting victim was located at the Park Town Ct. address. The 27-year-old male had been shot multiple times. He was also taken to an area hospital by Area Ambulance. His wounds are considered life-threatening.

Cedar Rapids Public Safety Communications Coordinator Greg Buelow says police investigators don't believe the incident was a random shooting. Authorities believe it happened at 1623 Park Town Ct. NE.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
