While rooted in its manufacturing and agricultural traditions, Cedar Rapids has evolved into a technology powerhouse, particularly in telecommunications, defense electronics, and aerospace industries. Though aerospace took a bit of a hit it seems to be returning. This booming economy attracts young professionals, who appreciate the affordability of the housing market, where the median home price is just over $170,000.
