I’m no fan of passing threats so here’s a direct one. We’re coming for you other cities; Cedar Rapids will win and be THE best city to live in. While rooted in its manufacturing and agricultural traditions, Cedar Rapids has evolved into a technology powerhouse, particularly in telecommunications, defense electronics, and aerospace industries. Though aerospace took a bit of a hit it seems to be returning. This booming economy attracts young professionals, who appreciate the affordability of the housing market, where the median home price is just over $170,000. With that said, after looking at housing it might be a bit, just a bit inflated. Here is a common thought lately “You want how much for that?!?!” Maybe it’s just us.

Cedar Rapids is growing and changing. 20 years ago, the downtown area was dying, now it’s vibrant and full of life with new developments and more on the way. Take a stroll around Cedar Rapids and you’ll see a landscape that’s very diverse.
When it comes to weather it’s usually hot and cold in Cedar Rapids. Sometimes it’s moderately hot and cold like this year. A few hot days but nothing extended. Other times I’ve heard the heat goes on for days and days and more days. I think you get the weather picture. If not, Bob Ross and I could paint a pretty little picture for days and days. If you're unaware of who Bob Ross is, please dive down the Bob Ross rabbit hole.
Livability says there are things to do in Cedar Rapids and there are a LOT of things to do. From Art to music, to animals, plus sports, wildlife and lots of culture. Livability also lists Cedar Rapids being kid-friendly, a good happy hour spot, along with good schools, and hospitals. Yes, I listed happy hour before hospitals because that's usually the way it goes. Cedar Rapids has it all and more. Though one crumb bum says there are many reasons why you shouldn't move to Cedar Rapids. You can see those reasons here --> 4 Reasons NOT to Move to Cedar Rapids IA.
