Cedar Rapids is Getting Another New Restaurant

Last week I was driving down Blairs Ferry Road, which I haven't done in a few weeks, when I noticed a big sign in front of a restaurant that closed down a while back. You may remember La Camelia, a Mexican restaurant located just off of Blairs Ferry Rd. at 475 Northland Ave. Since the restaurant closed in 2017, the building has been empty... but not for much longer! There is currently a sign out front announcing a new restaurant called Edison’s Eatery and Pub.

After extensively googling the restaurant, I came up with no Facebook, Instagram, or website. What I did find were some job listings for servers, hostesses, line cooks, bartenders, and more from the ICR Iowa website. Most of these job listings were posted on January 2nd, which is a good sign that the restaurant is getting closer to opening! We don't know exactly when that is yet, since the sign outside the restaurant simply says "coming soon," but as soon as we know more we will be sure to let you know.

I do think that location is a great place for a restaurant in the summertime, since the very popular Volley's is right across the street. I can't wait to hear more about the new eatery!
