Carrie Underwood will be heating up an Iowa summer night even more later this year.

Once-upon-a-time the winner of American Idol, country music superstar Carrie Underwood returns to Iowa this summer for an appearance at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on Sunday, August 21.

The Iowa State Fair reports this will be Carrie's first concert in Des Moines since she performed to a sold-out crowd in Des Moines back in 2015. The Iowa State Fair built a new stage and added additional capacity after the 2017 fair, but I have no doubt Carrie can sell every seat again this year.

Carrie Underwood's career has been the stuff of legend since she won American Idol on May 25, 2005. Since then, the Iowa State Fair says she's sold over 66 million records, has had 28 #1 songs (she co-wrote half of them), and has had seven albums that have either been certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. She's also claimed 100 industry awards, including 7 GRAMMY Awards, 23 CMT Music Awards, 17 American Music Awards, 15 ACM Awards, and 7 CMA Awards. Photos from her first Las Vegas residency, which continues through early spring, are below.

The only other 2022 concert announced thus far for the Iowa State Fair is country superstar Keith Urban with special guest Ingrid Andress. He'll perform the night before Carrie on Saturday, August 20. Ticket information for that show is available HERE.
