[UPDATED 3/20 11 a.m.] The Cedar Rapids Police Department says a man found in a vehicle along I-380 last week was murdered.

According to a media release, an autopsy on 27-year-old Jordan Haynes ruled his death was a homicide. No other information has been released as there is an active investigation in the case.

[UPDATE 3/13 5 pm] The Cedar Rapids Police Department says the Linn County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the person found in a vehicle Thursday morning as 27-year-old Jordan D. Haynes. The circumstances of the incident involved are still under investigation.

[ORIGINAL STORY 3/12] The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating a body found in a vehicle this morning in the southwest quadrant of the city.

According to a release from Cedar Rapids Police, officers and firefighters both responded after a property owner found a vehicle with what the owner thought was a victim inside.

The call came in around 9:40 Thursday morning and emergency personnel were dispatched to what was described in the release as a "wooded area off of northbound U.S. Interstate 380 and north of 76th Ave. S.W."

A man, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, was found deceased inside the vehicle. What led to the man's death is not currently known. The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating.
