My Five Favorite Places to Order Nachos in the Corridor [PHOTOS]
Anyone that knows me knows that nachos are my favorite food on the planet. They're one of those foods that I can just eat and eat and eat and I NEVER get sick of them! I even have a tiny nacho tattoo on my ankle...
November 6th is National Nachos Day, so I figured I would celebrate by sharing my top five favorite places to order nachos here in the Corridor! Here we go...
Bushwood Sports Bar & Grill, Cedar Rapids
Out of all the places I get nachos, Bushwood is definitely the one I order from the most. First of all, they're available on DoorDash, so I don't even have to leave my house. Secondly, even the HALF-order arrives in a pizza box, which is a great value for the price. And finally, the nachos are baked and include queso AND shredded cheese. They are absolutely perfect. I've never had a single complaint.
Wild Hogs Saloon & Eatery, Walford
The first place I ever ordered nachos after moving to Iowa was Wild Hogs, and all these years later, they're still some of my favorites. Not only is the pile of nachos enormous, but they also layer the toppings as they layer the chips, so you don't reach the bottom and find dry chips with nothing on them. Genius.
The Blind Pig, Cedar Rapids
When I'm in need of a quick fix, the nachos from the Blind Pig always hit the spot! They're close to my house, they're delicious, and they give you the meat and cheese in separate containers when you order carry-out, which ensures that the chips aren't soggy when you get home. They do things the right way over there!
Rock Bar American Grill, Cedar Rapids
I think the reason I love the nachos at Rock Bar so much is because of the cheese. I don't know what kind of queso they use, but it's ridiculously good! And, they don't skimp on the toppings.
Pub 217, Cedar Rapids
Last, but not least, Pub 217 in Downtown Cedar Rapids rounds out my top five favorite restaurants for nachos in the Corridor. The cheese is a little spicy, but in the best way. I typically just order them as my meal so I don't have to share with anyone!
If you're wondering who has my favorite nachos of ALL TIME, it's actually not a place here in Iowa. It's a tiny restaurant in my hometown of St. Clair Shores, Michigan called Boat Works. They have the biggest pile of nachos you've ever seen in your life! So big, that they don't even fit in a pizza box. They have to actually tape the box shut if you want to take them home. I'll show you a photo, but it just doesn't do the size justice...
I'm sad to say that some of my favorite restaurants for nachos in Iowa are no longer open. I was a huge fan of the ones from Chrome Horse, Chophouse Downtown, and the short-lived bar and restaurant SKO in Cedar Rapids. RIP.
