Bed Bath and Beyond Making a Comeback in Iowa
Bed Bath and Beyond filed for bankruptcy in 2023, and store closings soon followed. Several Eastern Iowa locations closed their doors. But now the retailer is making a bit of a comeback with partnerships with other retail stores.
Bed Bath and Beyond Launching Combination Stores
The Des Moines Register reports that Bed Bath and Beyond is partnering with 100 locations of The Container Store in the U.S. The first 22 combination stores opened on June 18th, with more locations coming soon. The partnership began in 2024 when The Container Store offered to carry some Bed Bath and Beyond products in its stores, according to the Register.
What Products Do The Combination Stores Offer?
If you walk into one of these combination stores, you'll find Bed Bath and Beyond products like bedding, bath, kitchen, entertaining, and home essentials, according to the Register. You'll also find custom spaces and in-home services from The Container Store. You can find a list of the 22 combination stores HERE.
Will There Be a Bed Bath and Beyond Store in Iowa?
Bed Bath and Beyond fans will be happy to hear that the Des Moines location of The Container Store will become a combination store, according to the Register. The store, located at 5901 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines, was not included in the initial store rollout, but an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
Before filing for bankruptcy, Bed Bath and Beyond operated at least eight stores in Iowa, including locations in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, and Davenport.
