Another gun violence tragedy on another school campus sent shockwaves again across America. Again. As the President addressed the nation on the incident yesterday, one comment rang clear, "Somehow this has become routine." And it's true, as the numbers are staggering.

From time to time you see really cool little tips and tricks online for fun things.  This is one I really want to try, and this weekend my be the perfect time.

As the city continues to convert one way streets into two way streets downtown, we knew there'd be some confusion.  However, nothing quite compares to the extremely complicated changes that have now taken over 3rd Ave.  Let's just call it a "work in progress".

We are just weeks away from one of the most delicious events that occurs annually in Cedar Rapids. Of course we're talking about Thomas Dostal Developers BaconFest, coming back to NewBo City Market September 26th.  Did you realize you can get in more or less free?

A little over a week ago, the breaking news was simply terrifying, as we learned a reporter, cameraman, and their guest were shot on live TV.  What we learned immediately after was even worse.

We are now just about a week away from the NewBo Music Festival, coming up August 8th.  Hopefully by now you've grabbed your tickets and are just as excited as we are to see the headliners Young the Giant and Allen Stone.  Maybe you've even heard that we're giving you the chance to meet them.

There's no denying we LOVE fishing in Cedar Rapids.  A drive across any of the bridges downtown, or around any lake will confirm that. But there's two days every summer where the best fishing hole in town is Robbins lake, as each fish caught could mean a big prize.

Freedom Fest has begun.  The weather is beautiful.  And it's a great night for the annual Balloon Glow on the Brucemore lawn.  No doubt, it's one of the most popular events, and it's already looking like this might be the biggest year yet.

The news has been breaking today that Hollywood sweetheart, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are calling it quits.  Although purely overpublished tabloid rumor as of now, I am devastated.  A couple I didn't understand at first, has become the poster for Hollywood "cute couple", and now it's all falling apart, apparently. Although, it's maybe not as shocking as some celeb splits.

If you're driven past the U.S. Cellular Center in the past couple days, you've probably seen it.  The tease, "Something Big Is Coming Cedar Rapids,"  with a date of June 11th.  So what can it be?
