Cedar Rapids Pizza Restaurant Expanding to Second Location
When you open up a restaurant you dream of it doing well enough that you can someday expand to a second location. That dream has finally come true for a Cedar Rapids pizza restaurant!
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that Aroma Artisan Pizza, which opened in the Newbo City Market in 2017, will soon open a second location in Cedar Rapids. The restaurant will be located in the new Kingston Yard development across the river. The Gazette reports that the new location at 151 1st. Ave. SW, Suit 100, will have seating for 25 customers, plus patio seating near the development's entertainment stage. The ground floor restaurant will sit very close to Pickle Palace.
According to the Gazette, in addition to Aroma's signature wood-fired pizzas the new location's menu will also include treats served at Luna Gelato in the Newbo City Market. Aroma also plans on taking advantage of the bigger space, adding a deck oven capable of making larger pizzas with the goal of being able to offer slices to go.
Aroma Artisan Pizza was opened by Carol Elliott and her family. Elliott told the Gazette that the restaurant has added new services every year since they have been open, so a second location was "the next logical step." The new spot was chosen because of its good view of the entertainment stage and a playground for families.
The Gazette reports that the second Aroma location is tentatively set to open in September. The Newbo location will remain open.
