Anna Kendrick Rocks Edgy Black J. Mendel Dress at 2014 Oscars [PHOTOS]

Quirky, lovably neurotic actress Anna Kendrick wore an edgy, black J. Mendel gown to the 2014 Oscars.

There were a few elements to Kendrick's dress, including the sprinkling of red, starburst-like appliques on the sheer stomach panel and that slit. That was an unexpected detail -- and one that we loved.

Black and neutrals were incredibly popular on this year's red carpet, and A. Kendrick was able to stand out thanks to the details of her gown.
