America’s Best Restaurants is Featuring Another Cedar Rapids Eatery

A popular web series that features locally-owned restaurants across the country is doing some filming in Cedar Rapids this week! America's Best Restaurants recently visited O's Grill, as well as another restaurant in Eastern Iowa!

Owned by Otmane Benjilany, aka "O," O's Grill began in 2009 as a small cart that sold shish kabobs in downtown Cedar Rapids. I remember the days when it was parked right outside of the old Hazzard County, serving up late night meals to bar-goers! That cart eventually became a food truck, and then a full blown restaurant at 3911 Center Point Rd NE.

O's Grill offers Mediterranean dishes, such as gyros, shawarma, falafel, hummus, and baklava. My go-to order is the O's Bowl, which is a bed of rice topped with all the ingredients of a gyro. The best part is the White Gold Sauce! You can actually purchase it by the bottle at several Cedar Rapids Hy-Vee stores, along with their hummus.

The crew from America's Best Restaurants filmed their episode with O's Grill on September 17th, and they also did a segment on the restaurant on KCRG's 'Everyday Iowa.' We don't know exactly when America's Best Restaurant will release the episode with O's Grill, but we will be sure to keep you updated! Speaking of America's Best Restaurants, they were also in Dyersville this week to film an episode with Fuse Restaurant & Bar! Their official Facebook page says that they were excited to show off their "community raised beef dishes, local brewhouse beers, [and] regional vineyard wine." The nachos are one of the items that they featured in the episode, which has yet to have a release date.
