Actor Powers Boothe Dead

Actor Powers Boothe, who played villains in many of his film roles, passed away on Sunday. He was 68. Boothe played bad guys in movies like Sin City, Tombstone, and on TV shows like Deadwood. But many in Iowa will remember him for his work on the 2007 movie 'The Final Season'.

'The Final Season' looked at the last year of baseball for Norway, Iowa. Sean Astin played Kent Stock while Boothe played the role of Norway coaching legend Jim Van Scoyoc. Van Scoyoc led Norway to 12 state titles and was a major player in the unsuccessful battle to prevent the school from closing in 1991. Much of that battle is portrayed in the movie.
