After an incredible collegiate career at Iowa, Aaron White will get his chance to make it in the NBA. He was taken in the second round of tonight's draft by the

Washington Wizards. He was the 49th overall pick.

White is listed as 6-foot eight-and-three-quarter inches and 220 pounds. The Wizards finished 46-36 this past season, good for 2nd place in the southeast division. They'll be looking for Aaron to help them outside the 3-point circle. Washington's big men combined for only 11 three-pointers last year, third-worst in the NBA.

Aaron White's story is well known around the Hawkeye State. He was offered a full-ride scholarship by only one school in a major conference, Iowa from the Big Ten. Fran McCaffery built around White and he improved each year, with the team. White ended his Iowa career as the school's number three rebounder of all-time and its second-leading scorer.

Best of luck to Aaron as he tries to take the next step. I have no doubt he'll climb it. For now, I hope he's able to take a little bit of time getting ready to be a dad. Aaron and his girlfriend Grace are expecting a little girl in just a couple months.
