A new Vietnamese restaurant is set to open in Hiawatha in just a few days! It's called Yummy Banh Mi, and they'll be serving up a popular Vietnamese sandwich!

Yummy Banh Mi is located at 1950 Blairs Ferry Rd NE in Hiawatha, which is right on the corner of Edgewood Road near Happy Joe's and Taco John's. The Facebook page says to "get ready for an explosion of flavors, mouthwatering Banh Mi sandwiches, refreshing Boba tea, aromatic coffee, and a convenient drive-through!"

I think many of us are familiar with Boba Tea (also known as Bubble Tea), which is a cold beverage with a tea base, a milk or fruit flavor, and edible pearls (typically made of tapioca). It's available at several restaurants and coffee shops in the area. What I'm not familiar with is Banh Mi!

According to the website for a place called Bahn Mi Bistro, Bahn Mi is described as "an airy, crunchy French-styled baguette stuffed with a combination of meats, vegetables and other condiments. While balancing different textures and temperatures, bánh mì also has a flavor profile that is off the charts: salty, sour, savory, sweet, and aromatic all at once!" It looks a lot like a sub sandwich!

The most recent Facebook post from Yummy Banh Mi says that the restaurant is set to open to the public on Saturday, June 17th. Their listed hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For the latest updates, you can follow the official Facebook page HERE.
