A Sunday Morning Surprise On I-380

Julie and I were heading for her Mom's house yesterday morning when the above greeted us on Interstate 380, near H Avenue.  A police car on each side and a plethora of bucket trucks.  Had the sky not been clear, I would've thought they were trying to collect rainwater...it has been a little dry lately, you know.

Turns out utility trucks were sending power lines across all six lanes of traffic in that area.  I hadn't even noticed the new poles prior to yesterday.  However, on the way home last night, I couldn't help but notice all those new wires now hovering overhead in that spot.

I can't say that I've ever really thought about how they get the power lines from one side to another, but now we know, and you do too...
