Tavern Blue is officially open for business!

Thanks to a recent article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, we now know that the tropical new restaurant opened its doors to customers the week of August 16th. The 15,000 square-foot space has two bars that feature Iowa beers, cocktails, and "mocktails," lots of seating, $5 mini golf, foosball, Jenga, giant Connect Four, and more. It's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Check out their website for more information HERE.

A unique new restaurant will be opening in Coralville in the very near future! According to a new article from The Gazette, Tavern Blue will open at 805 Second Street, just down the street from Reunion Brewery and Wig & Pen, in the next few weeks.

Tavern Blue is much more than just a restaurant. Yes, they do have a full menu featuring appetizers, sandwiches, salads, wood fired pizzas, desserts, and more, but it's not just about food, it's about having fun! The official website says that the establishment will feature all sorts of activities like live music and trivia, but I think it's the mini-golf that will really draw people in! The website reads:

"Our mini golf course is one of a kind: boats, jet skis and sailboats dot the landscape as you navigate through our 9-hole course that is both unique and challenging. We also have a variety of entertainment options including professional foosball tables, super sized Jenga and Connect 4. Or you can watch your favorite game on the bar’s 8 TVS or the big screen!"

In addition to the food and games, Tavern Blue will also have plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options. They will feature 20 beers from craft breweries across the state, signature cocktails, and "mocktails" that everyone can enjoy.

There is no official opening date listed just yet, but a recent Facebook post says they are aiming for the first week of August. Here are a few sneak peek photos to hold you over until then:
