A Popular Corridor Coffee Shop is Closing Its Doors
The city of Hiawatha will have one less coffee shop next month. According to a new Facebook post, Karma Coffee Café at 1725 Boyson Road will close its doors in mid-March.
Karma Coffee Café first opened for business in 2017 after owner Diane realized that there weren't any convenient local coffee stops on her route to work. Ever since then, the business has been serving up delicious beverages, as well as breakfast items, sandwiches, pastries, soups, and salads.
Unfortunately for us, the owners of Karma Coffee Café are ready to move on to a new chapter in their lives. Diane and Andrew revealed that they are retiring and planning to do a bit of travelling to see their family. In the Facebook post, they thanked all of people that helped keep the shop up and running:
"The people who came to work for us hold a special place in our hearts. The vendors who helped to guide us hold a special place in our thoughts.
Karma Coffee Café will have its last day of business on March 11th. It will be open regular hours from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., but then at 5 p.m., it will reopen for one last celebration. Make sure you stop by one last time before the doors close for good!
Brain and I actually did a live broadcast from Karma Coffee Café back in 2017 for one of our "Hometown Tour" stops. We loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the food! I'm still thinking about the breakfast sandwich I had! We wish Diane and Andrew a very happy retirement and the best of luck in all their future endeavors.
