The building that once housed Louie's Wine Dive in Coralville is going to be home to a brand new restaurant next month! According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Tribute Eatery & Bar is taking over the space at 901 E. Second Ave. in the Iowa River Landing.

When Louie's Wine Dive closed back in March, it was announced that the owners of the popular restaurant 30hop had purchased the building, which is right down the street from the Coralville 30hop location. There was no name at the time, but one of the owners told The Gazette:

"We’re planning on trying to do something that’s going to complement our 30hop location and the needs of the Iowa River Landing, especially with the opening of the arena."

Now we finally get to welcome Tribute Eatery & Bar to the area.

A press release about the new restaurant was posted on the Iowa Beer Baron website this week and it says that the building is currently undergoing renovations, but they hope to be open for business in the second half of October. The article says:

"Tribute aims to bring sophisticated and fresh cuisine to a smart and convivial crowd. Its menu focuses on delivering artisanal sandwiches, shareable snacks, hearty salads and seasonal favorites with its inviting, classic space and laid back vibe anchored by a spanning warm wood bartop."

The opening of Tribute couldn't come at a better time, since Xtream Arena is now open and their first big event, the USA Wrestling Senior Nationals, is set for October 9th through 11th.

There is still no set opening date for the new restaurant, but you can follow their Facebook page for updates HERE.
