Thanks to the new TestIowa initiative, a new coronavirus testing site is officially opening today in Eastern Iowa.

KCRG reports that the new TestIowa site is located in the parking lot of Crossroads Mall, which is located at 2060 Crossroads Blvd in Waterloo. But, you can't just show up hoping to get a test. You need to first visit TestIowa.com and take the assessment so the state can determine whether or not you need one. Then you will get an email, which will give you instructions on how to make an appointment.

If you're not yet familiar with TestIowa, the official website says:

"TestIowa is a new initiative in partnership with our state leaders and private corporations. Our goal is to dramatically increase the rate of COVID-19 testing so Iowans can have better access to testing and help stem the spread of COVID-19 to get us back to normal as quickly as possible."

According to KCRG, the very first TestIowa site opened last weekend in Des Moines, with more locations to follow. They eventually hope to test around 3,000 Iowans every day. The article adds that around 40,000 people in the state have been tested since the coronavirus pandemic began a few weeks ago.

We hope that you're all staying healthy and that everyone is able to get the testing they need! You can get more information about TestIowa and take the assessment HERE.
