A New Classic Rock-Themed Tap Room Has Opened in Cedar Rapids
There's a new place to grab a beer in Cedar Rapids!
The next time you're over in Southwest Cedar Rapids, you may want to consider stopping out at the city's newest tap room! Spinal Taproom has officially opened at 3223 16th Ave SW, right in between My Chiro and Walgreens.
Spinal Taproom's name is a play off of the 1984 movie This is Spinal Tap, as well as a nod to their neighbors My Chiro. Owner Bruce Weisbein told me told me that the bar has a rock & roll history theme, with black and white photos of legends from the 1950s through today donning the walls and a painting of the Rolling Stones logo right above the fireplace. The coolest feature is probably the bar, which is shaped like an electric guitar!
Spinal Taproom only offers two things on their menu: beer and wine. They currently have 14 beers on tap, and 12 of them are from breweries right here in Iowa. Some of the featured breweries include SingleSpeed Brewing Company, ReUnion Brewery, Thew Brewing Company, and Kalona Brewing Company. There is also a peach cider available from Ciderboys Hard Cider for folks who aren't big fans of beer. Eventually, the tap room plans to have live music on the schedule.
If you want to check out Spinal Taproom, the new business is open weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can follow the official Facebook page HERE.
