98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Salutes Nick Macke

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an eastern Iowa First Responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Nick Macke, who was nominated by his mom Kelly! The entry reads:

"Nick served his country in Iraq, he is a volunteer firefighter for the city of Lisbon, and he is a reserve police officer for the Lisbon/Mt Vernon department. He is a wonderful father to four small children and a wonderful husband to his wife. Nick helped perform CPR on a coworker who was fatally injured at work and desperately tried to help save his life. In addition to that, he volunteers as a coach to one of his daughter's softball teams. Nick has a giving heart and has served his country, and he continues to serve his community and his family. I am a very proud momma!"
