98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Salutes Elana Janss

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an eastern Iowa First Responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Elana Janss, who was nominated by Dominic Smith! The entry reads:

"Elana is a Critical Care Paramedic who has been serving the Belle Plaine area as part of the Belle Plaine Area Ambulance Service for more than 20 years. Elana treats everyone on her team as though they are her own family, and is willing to drop anything and everything she is doing day or night to help a patient in need. Elana will assist any of us EMTs on the service, even if she isn't scheduled for more critical calls, so that the patient has the best possible outcome and quality of life. Elana is the heart and soul of our service, and is the true definition of a hero. On behalf of all Benton County EMS services, we love you Elana, keep up the amazing work!!!"
