The Iowa Lottery is asking residents in the corridor to check their Powerball tickets. You might be a millionaire and not even know it! A $2 million dollar jackpot is currently unclaimed. The winning ticket was bought at the Hawkeye Convenience Store off Wiley Blvd in Cedar Rapids.

Lottery officials say that the ticket matched the first 5 numbers, but not the Powerball. That ticket normally wins $1 million dollars, but the ticket added the power play option so now it's worth $2 million. Officials say that it's not unusual for a winner to seek out financial advice before claiming a ticket, but it's been over one month. That's why a press conference was held yesterday asking Powerball players to check their tickets!

The winning numbers from that July 16th drawing were 11, 17, 40, 50, 62, and a Powerball of 26. If you believe you have the winning ticket, you're encouraged to call the Iowa Lottery. The winner must have a signed ticket to claim the prize. If the jackpot is unclaimed for a year, it goes back to the Iowa Lottery for use in future prizes.
