Hotels lose over $50,000 a year on items taken from their rooms. Whether is shampoo and soaps, or perhaps a bath towel, chances are you've taken something from a room you've stayed in before.  But that could all change thanks to modern technology.

A company in Miami called Linen Tracking Technology has created a tiny chip that hotels can put in their towels and bath robes.  Nearly 2,000 hotels have already started using the technology.  Does this mean the cops are going to bust you for one towel?  No, however, it DOES mean that the hotel can track the items and either ask for it back or CHARGE you for it.  Something to think about the next time you leave with more than you brought in your suitcase!
