1983 was the year that a group called Sawyer Brown won $100,000 after capturing the victory on TV's 'Star Search.' That was certainly a show that knew what they were doing. The win sparked the group to an amazingly successful career that still features plenty of live shows, 40 years later.

On Thursday, June 22, Sawyer Brown performed at the Butler County Fair in Allison. The photo at the top of this story is from that concert. Lead vocalist Mark Miller has been with the group since the very beginning (actually 1981). And yes, he still dances. The video below is from a concert this spring.

This summer, Sawyer Brown is performing at the Benefit the Vets concert in Worthington, Iowa, in Dubuque County, on Sunday, August 13. All proceeds from the outdoor show being held at the Worthington Memorial Hall will support local veterans and associations.

Gates open for the concert on August 13 at 2 p.m., with Rafe Carlson performing at 2:30 p.m., followed by Sawyer Brown. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Sawyer Brown has performed more than 6,000 shows since it first started. They love to play, and Mark Miller loves to dance. If you've never seen them live, I highly recommend you do. If you have, I'm sure you're planning a trip to Worthington.

You can enter to win a 4-pack of tickets to the concert below.

*Contest ends Monday, July 17 at 11:59 p.m.
