In a very rare move, every single United Nations country agreed on something today and the beneficiaries are wild animals all over the world.

All 193 countries in the U.N. voted today to create stronger protections for wildlife. I know what you're thinking. Cecil the Lion did this. Maybe partially, but the resolution has actually been discussed for three years. It calls on countries to strengthen courts and law enforcement to protect animals, and battle against poaching and forbidden items made from animals that are threatened.

Now, let's just hope the countries follow through and strengthen their laws. Unfortunately, the future sustainability of countless species of animals probably counts on it.
