When Warming Your Car Up, Keep It Locked Up!
Baby, it's cold outside! When temperatures dip down into the single digits, and you get up early in the morning like I do, you may let your car warm up before you take off for work. I typically let mine warm up for about 10 minutes before I head to the station. But a rash of car thefts in the Cedar Rapids area this fall should serve as a warning: Lock those doors!
I'll admit it. I don't always lock up my car when it's warming up. Hopefully you don't google my address after reading that. Law enforcement officials say it's always a good idea to lock your doors while your vehicle is warming up. Make a copy of your key. It's that simple. Or get an automatic starter for your car. I hear they make a great holiday gift!
Do you let your car warm up in cold weather? Do you always lock it?
