It was a good night for both the UNI men's basketball team and the Iowa women's team. Northern Iowa had an easy time disposing of Bradley, while the Hawkeye women beat the team that had knocked them out of the Big Ten tournament the last three years.

#11 UNI defeated Bradley by a final of 71-46. The Panthers were led by Nate Buss, who had 23 points off the bench to lead all scorers. Northern Iowa is now 28-3 and takes on Loyola of Illinois at 4:05 Saturday afternoon in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament semi-finals.

In the women's Big Ten tournament, #14 Iowa is making its 2nd straight trip to the semi-finals and 10th overall after knocking out Nebraska 74-65. The Cornhuskers had eliminated Iowa from the tourney each of the last three years. Iowa was about as balanced as it gets as far as scoring is concerned. Ally Disterhoft had 16; Samantha Logic and Bethany Doolittle 15 each; Kali Peschel 13. Next up for 2-seed Iowa is 3-seed Ohio State. Saturday night's game is slated to tip-off at approximately 8:30.
